A re-entry permit lets you leave Thailand and return without cancelling your current extended stay or Non-Immigrant visa. Without it, leaving normally ends the stay. You can get a single or a multiple re-entry permit at immigration before you travel.
A weekend abroad can cost an extended stay if the permit is missing, and the problem only shows when you try to come back. People call us the week before a flight, or at the airport. Calling earlier makes it a routine errand.
We arrange the permit before your trip, in the right type for your travel pattern, and we check that your other dates such as the 90-day report stay on track.
This is for you if
- You have an extended stay, such as a family, retirement, work or study stay.
- You plan a trip abroad and want to keep your stay.
- You travel often and want a multiple re-entry permit.
- You want the permit done before an early flight.
This may not fit if
- You hold a visa that already allows multiple entries. Check the terms first.
- Your stay has already been cancelled. Contact us for the best way forward.
How we arrange your re-entry permit

Travel plan check
We check your stay type, your travel dates and whether single or multiple fits best.
- 2
Documents
We prepare the form, copies and photos for the immigration visit.
- 3
Submission
We handle the immigration visit in Phuket, or tell you how to do it at the airport where possible.
- 4
Return and next dates
We confirm the date you must return and update your reporting calendar.
We choose the type from your travel dates
Tell us your trips for the rest of the year. If there is one, we arrange a single permit. If there are several, we compare the cost of a multiple permit with several single ones and show you the numbers in your quote. The fees and the comparison are in our guide on single or multiple re-entry permits.
Why it matters
The permit protects your extended stay. It does not change your visa category or extend your stay beyond its expiry date. If you travel close to the end of your stay, plan the extension and the permit together.
At the airport or in advance
Re-entry permits can often be bought at an immigration counter at the airport as well. That is risky when you are late or when counters are busy. We recommend arranging it a few days in advance.
Documents for a re-entry permit
Usually:

- Authorisation if we submit for you

- Whether we submit for you or you only need the preparation
- How close your travel date is
Common mistakes to avoid
- Flying out without any permit and losing the extended stay.
- Buying a single permit for a trip pattern that needs multiple.
- Assuming the permit extends the stay. It only preserves it.
- Leaving it for the airport on the day of the flight.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if I leave without a re-entry permit?
In most cases your extended stay is cancelled when you leave. You would then re-enter on a new entry permission, so check before travelling.
How long does it take to get a re-entry permit?
Often the same day at the immigration office. We plan it a few days ahead to avoid surprises.
Single or multiple: which should I choose?
If you travel more than once during your stay, multiple is usually the better choice.
Does a re-entry permit extend my stay?
No. It only preserves the current stay while you travel.
Can you do it if I am in a hurry?
Tell us your flight date and we will say what is realistic.
