Enter the end date stamped in your passport, or your entry date and the number of permitted days. The calculator shows your days left, a recommended apply-by date for an extension and the estimated overstay fine if the date has already passed.
Many visa problems start with a simple date: the day the permitted stay ends. A stay that ends on a Sunday, a public holiday or while you are travelling can turn a small delay into an overstay.
This calculator shows the end date, the days left and a sensible apply-by date. It runs in your browser and does not store anything.
This is for you if
- You are on a tourist stay or a visa-exempt entry and want to extend.
- You want to know how many days are left on your current stay.
- You want a calendar reminder to apply in time.
- You want to estimate the cost of an overstay.
This may not fit if
- Your stay is a long-term extended stay with its own yearly dates. Check your latest stamp and ask us for tracking.
- You need a legal opinion about an old overstay. Contact us directly.

How the permitted days are counted
The entry day counts as day one in this estimate, so a 30-day stay that starts on the 1st ends on the 30th. The stamp in your passport is the official date, so use the end-date option when you can read it there.
When to apply for an extension
We recommend applying about a week before your stay ends, so a missing paper does not turn into an overstay. A tourist stay can usually be extended once for 30 days, subject to the rules of the day. See our visa extension service.
What overstay costs
At the time of writing the fine is 500 THB per day, capped at 20,000 THB. Long overstays can also lead to entry bans. The calculator shows an estimate when the date has passed. Contact us immediately if that is your situation. Read more in overstaying in Thailand: the fine, the ban and what to do.

No. Everything runs in your browser.
What if my stay already ended?
Contact us right away. Overstay is handled differently from a normal extension.
